Our partnership with Drouillard Dasney Mixed Evangelical School.
Currently, we have partnered with a local school, Drouillard Dasney Mixed Evangelical School, located 1 hour east of Port-au-Prince. This school has been in their community since 1980s and has a major impact in the community, and especially in the young generation.
One of the criteria for choosing this school in the community was due to the lack of opportunities for the next generation. Unfortunately, many parents in the community are unable to pay for school which has led to a high drop out rate. This has resulted in an increase in gangs causing a high risk of insecurity while others are becoming domestic workers in unfavorable settings or “restavek” (in creole).
Despite the current issues, the local school has been known to be a positive influence in the community. Our common vision to reach and impact the next-generation has united us to change their trajectory. The leaders and director of the school have a true burden to reach the youth that are lost, on the verge of joining gangs, and the uneducated. Partnering with this school has not only allowed us to use their influence to reach the community but also use their building and facility which we will use to host our programs for the youth.
Our trade/vocational programs
The socioeconomic situation of Haiti is becoming increasingly precarious: inflation, high cost of living, unemployment, environmental degradation, insecurity are all the elements that characterize the situation of the country. Young people represent the most vulnerable category of society. Generally, in Haiti, a young person completes his classical studies between the ages of 20 and 22 without counting the years of possible repetition and those who could not finish. It must then take 3-4 years to learn a profession or complete their undergraduate studies to find themselves in the workforce between age 23-25. This is all done without having the guarantee of finding a job to earn a living because of the high rate of unemployment and the lack of work opportunity in the country. Imagine a 27-30 year old young adult, with no income, still under the responsibility of his parents to meet his most basic needs. This is the sad reality of many. This is a situation that deserves to be analyzed and understood in order to find a solution. This is the main issue that we seek to answer and tackle with our trade/vocational project.
This is a project to introduce a component of trade/vocational activities for the benefit of 57 students in primary school (7th to 9th fundamental year). These are the three project groups: sewing, saponification, and music.
-
In this area, sewing is essential. There is a high demand for seamstresses and tailors due to people needing their clothes fixed or adjustments made, especially students because the majority of the local schools require uniforms.
This is a valuable skill that will allow them to start creating income in the community. This project will consist of 25 students to train in sewing.
-
Haiti frequently faces sanitary crisis. This has resulted in an increase in the need for sanitary products such as liquid or solid soaps, detergents, disinfectants, or chlorine to disinfect and clean. Saponification is the chemical process of creating soaps and disinfectants.
Having this skill, many will be equipped with the knowledge to create these products and sell them, allowing them to make money. This project will consist of 17 students.
-
Music is in great demand these days in Haiti either in churches for choirs and groups or in cultural activities such as funerals or popular festivals. Students who play instruments can easily find gigs to bring in income.
Allowing the students to learn how to play an instrument puts them at an advantage to make money. This project will consist of 15 students.
Our Current Projects
Vocationally equip these 57 students to be self-sustainable and earn a valid living after leaving formal school.

Sponsorship Program
Help change the life of a child with only $30 a month.
Sponsoring a child will enable him or her to be enrolled in school, receive medical care, and be properly nourished. We will also provide social activities for the child at our local center to continue to develop their social and moral skills. Your donation will be investing in the life of a future leader and world changer.
Our Community Projects
We are currently working on different projects in Haiti to serve and impact the community.
